3.5x5 Maple Picture Frame

$50.00

This one-of-a-kind maple picture frame is designed and built completely with hand tools. The lumber was dimensioned with panel saws, scrub planes and smoothing planes along with all of the necessary marking tools such as marking gauges and rules. This frame was built using traditional pre-industrial molding planes to give us the pleasing profile and even a filister and record 043 plane to bring everything to size. Card scrapers were used to smooth and blend corners and profiles and only touched with 220 sand paper upon the recommendation of the finish which is an environmentally friendly water based pore filler and clear gloss finish that will be treasured long past us. This frame is one of a kind and I hope you will enjoy what it holds for you as well as the hours of craftsmanship placed into the making of it.
